Director James Wan announces the final day of filming for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom in a new set photo with Jason Momoa and Patrick Wilson.
The film is part of the DC Extended Universe, following the success of 2017’s Aquaman which took in $1.1 billion globally. The sequel once again stars Momoa as the underwater superhero.
Aquaman 2 appears to be a globe-trotting adventure, similar to the first film, with a sneak peek at the upcoming film showing Aquaman and his half-brother Orm (Wilson) working together to take on a bigger threat. In addition to an exciting new mission, it also looks like we’ll get an exciting new look for Aquaman’s costume for this film, with him wearing his stealth armor from the comics and Orm looking more scaled back and without his signature silver armored suit. Black Manta is also getting an upgrade in the costume department in Aquaman 2 but he will still be recognizable thanks to his helmet mask and trident that he used.
In James Wan’s latest Instagram post he said:
Contemporary superhero films are very popular today, and Aquaman is one of the more recent ones that was released after the huge success of the original movie. The sequel to Aquaman which is due out this year should prove to be exciting again especially since it will be directed by Wan who also did a fantastic job with “Fish boy’s first adventure.
