Benedict Cumberbatch hasn’t seen full script
Despite featuring heavily in the upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home movie, Benedict Cumberbatch hasn’t read the full script for the film. Speaking to USA Today while promoting his new movie The Power of the Dog, Cumberbatch said that he didn’t read the full script because he wanted to preserve the surprise.
When asked about spoilers, he said “you know it’s a dead-end, but I can tell you this; it’s a riotous film.” Cumberbatch was careful not to reveal any movie spoilers before revealing that he hadn’t read the whole script. Not that it matters anyway, Marvel has been known to provide actors only with scripts where they feature so as not to leak any spoilers.
Spider-Man: No Way Home promises to be a “riotous” movie indeed, with a host of actors from the previous Spider-Man movie iterations featuring in the upcoming film; like Doc Ock, Sandman, and Green Goblin from Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy; Electro and LIzard from Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man movies, and the MCU’s Doctor Strange and Wong.
Rumors are also spreading about Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield reprising their roles as the titular character(s) from the previous Spider-Man movies, although the duo have been adamant about their non-participation in the upcoming movie so far.
Spider-Man: No Way Home will hit theaters on December 17, tickets are now available for purchase.
