Camila Cabello feels thankful for a lot of things, following her breakup with former beau Shawn Mendes after being together for more than 2 years and calling it quits less than two weeks ago.

Cabello was seen surrounded by all her dogs, including Tarzan, a puppy whom she got with Mendes back in November last year when they were still happily together.

Camila Cabello feels thankful

She posted a video of herself on Instagram cuddling with her dogs, captioning it:

“I have a lot to be thankful for, but I’m especially grateful that I gotta whole squad trying to hang w me while I meditate 🧘‍♀️

happy gratitude day everybody! I’m very thankful for all of you on here who send me love, listen to my music, and support me on this creative/ life journey!

even though I haven’t met a lot of you, you guys show me love, kindness, and support and I’m sending it to all of you right back! After all, we’re all alive at the same time in this crazy, confusing, magical world and I do believe we’re all interconnected and are never truly alone.

Grateful for my human family and friends and my plant and animal family and friends ❤️ Sending you guys so much love and gratitude today ❤️”

Her message comes in the wake of their seemingly amicable split after the former lovebirds announced their breakup on November 17 – it seems Cabello still has many things to be thankful for.

Cabello and Mendes wrote in a joint statement on November 17, saying that they decided to end their romantic relationship but their love for each other is stronger than ever. They added that they started their relationship as best friends and will continue to be best friends and that they appreciate the fans’ supports from the beginning and moving forward.

Still love and respect each other

Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes first met in 2014 as they were both the opening acts for Austin Mahone’s concert and the two eventually became best friends.

Their friendship then blossomed into romance and they started dating in July 2019, with the lovebirds growing even closer during the Covid-19 pandemic as they quarantined together with each other.

Cabello described her romance with Mendes back in November 2020 in a lengthy Instagram post, saying:

“It’s not just the happy blissful moments you see in pictures and videos — when you’re in a relationship with someone, it feels like they are this mirror reflecting yourself back to you.

I constantly have to confront my fears, my anxieties, my insecurities, my patterns of thinking, my beliefs about life and about myself. It’s not as simple as it looks in pictures sometimes.

Sometimes, it’s messy and uncomfortable and ugly lol. But there’s nothing like the pull, the FORCE that is love, to be the light in the darkness — to be the gravitational pull that gives you the relentless strength to be braver, wiser and better than you were yesterday.”

Despite the two breaking up, the two singers still have a lot of love and respect for each other, and that they don’t rule out the possibility of romantic reconciliation – a source close to the couple said that they “needed a break from each other” but they are “not saying never”.
