Chris Hemsworth – I’ll play Thor as long as they’ll (Marvel) have me. The actor was speaking on The Today show while filming Extraction 2 for Netflix, and when asked if he is interested in another Thor trilogy like Tom Holland’s new Spider-Man trilogy (as announced by Sony’s Amy Pascal), Hemsworth said that he would turn up as long as he’s wanted.
Chris Hemsworth – I’ll play Thor if Marvel will have me
Tom Holland was announced by Sony producer Amy Pascal to have signed up to helm a further three more movies in the form of another Spider-Man trilogy after Spider-Man: No Way Home. And the hosts of The Today Show asked if Chris Hemsworth was interested in going the same route as Tom Holland and signing up for further Thor movies, the actor said:
“How many Spider-Mans has he done? He’s a little behind me. I think he’s done three, I’ve done six or seven Thors, so maybe.
As long as they’ll have me, I’ll turn up, but I feel like they might be waning that kind of enthusiasm for me to keep going.”Chris Hemsworth
Chris Hemsworth still has another MCU movie coming up, with Thor: Love and Thunder planned for a release in 2022, which sees actress Natalie Portman returning to the MCU. He also mentioned last year that the fourth Thor movie will not be his final Marvel movie.
Alongside Iron Man (portrayed by Robert Downey Jr), Captain America (portrayed by Chris Evans), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Hawkeye (Portrayed by Jeremy Renner), and The Hulk (portrayed by Mark Ruffalo), Chris Hemsworth’s Thor is one of the pioneers of the Avengers and served as one of its primary characters in the early days of the MCU.
He has since made 7 appearances as the God of Thunder in the MCU, excluding the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder which will be his 8th outing at the “Strongest Avenger” – although plot details for the upcoming Thor movie have been kept tightly under wraps.
