In November 2021, it was reported that there were significant reshoots underway for Doctor Strange 2.
Benedict Cumberbatch revealed later that month the reason for these reshoots was triggered by some of the scenes that were already shot prior to said event: in consequence, these scenes featuring him and other characters would now be too obscure or vague if they followed with what they had filmed, thus they needed to reshoot those sections so that everyone could better understand where the story left off prior to said event and how it affected both its core cast and any potential new additions.
