Hollywood superstar Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson recently appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden, where he was asked about a photo on Instagram of a gate that he destroyed.
He was on the talk show to promote his new Netflix movie; Red Notice, starring alongside Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds and Wonder Woman actress Gal Gadot.
Dwayne Johnson destroyed metal gate
Dwayne Johnson explained the reasons behind his destroying of the metal gate; saying that due to a thunderstorm the night before, the power was knocked out and he was stuck inside, unable to leave.
The gargantuan actor then pushed and pushed on the gate so much that it came off the hinges, and he then threw it down.
He further explained that the reason why he took the picture of the gate was to show it to his security to tell them: “Hey listen, there’s a gate down, please get this gate fixed, my whole family is inside the house.”
His security team then sent him a video of four guys trying to carry the destroyed gate away (the same one that The Rock destroyed with his bare hands by himself), much to Johnson’s amusement.
Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot were waiting
Dwayne explained in the talk show that because the thunderstorm had knocked out the power, the gate wouldn’t open and he couldn’t leave.
Some people have asked him why he didn’t climb over the gate and call an Uber instead, to which he lamented how every time he called an Uber, the driver(s) go bananas upon meeting him, hence his decision not to call one.
He said that he had to get to the set where Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot were waiting for him, and eventually he decided to just rip off the entire gate from its hinges.
