Dwayne Johnson stars as Superman’s dog, Krypto, in the upcoming 3D animated movie DC League of Super-Pets – he will be voicing Superman’s loyal canine sidekick who has been imbued with super-powers like his owner.

The script for DC’s League of Super-Pets was written by Jared Stern, who is co-directing the project with Sam Levine, in conjunction with Warner Bros, Warner Animation Group as well as Dwayne Johnson’s Seven Bucks Productions.
Dwayne Johnson will be producing the movie alongside Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia, with John Requa, Glenn Ficarra and Nicholas Stoller acting as executive producers for the project. Dwayne Johnson also posted a video of the movie trailer on his Instagram.
Comedian and actor Kevin Hart, who has worked with Dwayne Johnson previously on films such as Central Intelligence, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, and Jumanji: The Next Level; will be co-starring with the latter as a dog named Ace, who acquired the powers of invulnerability as well as super strength.
(Super) Man’s best friend
The movie follows Superman’s dog Krypto (voiced by Dwayne Johnson), as he forms a team of shelter-pets with superpowers after his owner Superman (voiced by John Krasinski) and the Justice League gets captured by Lex Luthor.
Krypto links up with Kevin Hart’s Ace, who gains the powers of super strength and invulnerability; along with other super-pets like PB (voiced by Vanessa Bayer), a potbellied pig who can grow in scale; Merton (voiced by Natasha Lyonne), a turtle with super speed; and Chip (voiced by Diego Luna), a squirrel with the powers of electricity.
The movie also stars Marc Maron as Lex Luthor, with Kate McKinnon, Keanu Reeves, Thomas Middleditch, Ben Schwartz, and Jameela Jamil also featuring, although their roles in the movie have yet to be disclosed.
DC’s League of Super-Pets is scheduled for release in the United States on May 20, 2022.
