Dylan O´Brien jokes that Sony’s recent delay to the release of Morbius is due to the fact that fans “aren’t able to handle it yet,” when referring to movies projects. Morbius will see Jared Leto play Dr. Michael Morbius, who, in seeking a cure for his rare blood disorder, ultimately turns himself into a vampire. The film has suffered a number of delays on the road to its release as many other cases have been reported worldwide.
Sony’s official answer to the delay is due to the Omicron COVID-19 variant. The initial release date was Jan 28, 2022, and it has since changed to April fools day.
Morbius takes place in the same universe as Venom and Carnage, with Kraven the Hunter on the way. Fans are excited to see Leto’s debut as Morbius after he made headlines for last year’s Facebook rant about what it means to be a “true fan” of Stan Lee.
Sony’s Spider-Verse Universe, which encompasses its upcoming projects like Venom or the post-credit scene in the most recent Incredible 2 film, will be getting even bigger with the release of Morbius: The Movie. This successful addition to Sony’s cinema is yet another great movie to add to a long list of anti-hero projects starring names like Aaron Taylor Johnson and Jonathon Leto. Spider-Man was very popular before this movie, but like many others, we can’t wait for though highly anticipated blockbuster which is set to surpass the original Spiderman released by Sony earlier this decade.
Here is what Dylan O’Brien responded to Erik Davids Tweet on the delay of Morbius
I’ve heard this is super good, so they keep having to push it back because we aren’t able to handle it yet, because it’s that good, that we need more time to evolve as a species to be better prepared to handle a movie this good https://t.co/fYfamkNQrX— Dylan O'Brien (@dylanobrien) January 4, 2022
