Ed Sheeran took to the stage on Saturday Night Live as originally scheduled and performed two of his new songs, Shivers and Overpass Graffiti from his latest album Equals.

Ed Sheeran tested positive for Covid

The singer tested positive for Covid-19 and was quarantined following his diagnosis but has since recovered and made a full return.

Sheeran took to Instagram to reveal that he was cleared from his quarantine and that his appearance on Saturday Night Live would carry on as per schedule, saying that he is excited to hit the ground running with work again.

The 30-year-old Ginger previously shared in an Instagram post on 24 October that he had been infected with Covid-19, even apologizing for his infection, saying: “Hey guys. Quick note to tell you that I’ve sadly tested positive for Covid, so I’m now self-isolating and following government guidelines. Apologies to anyone I’ve let down. Be safe everyone x.”

Ed originally offered to perform at the show via a live feed video link but SNL refused, saying that it wasn’t something that they do and that they like to have the performer in person at the studio.

Ed Sheeran performed songs from new album

Sheeran performed songs from his new album “=” (pronounced Equals), including Shivers and Overpass Graffiti.

His new album was released on 29 October and the reviews have been mixed thus far, although we found it musically pleasing.

Of all the songs, Love in Slow Motion is that soft love ballad that one would hope to play as a slow dance anthem at high school dances, with the song reminiscent of Sheeran’s previous works such as “The A-Team” and “Thinking Out Loud”.

The singer appeared to be shifting away from acoustic music on the new album, with a more pronounced emphasis on generic pop sounds; Bad Habits is an example of Sheeran switching his sounds.
