Intruder broke into I’m A Celebrity production set – ITV said in a statement that a security breach took place earlier this week at the castle set of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here.

The incident was one of many problems faced as the show had to cancel its live show for the first time in 19 years due to adverse weather conditions brought about by Storm Arwan, with a pre-recorded episode being aired instead.

The reality TV show has been filmed at Gwrych Castle because of the pandemic, with the last 19 seasons being filmed in a rainforest in Australia – the Grych Castle serves as the filming location for the show this season.

The intruder has apparently trespassed and evaded six levels of security and reached the walls of the castle. The set’s security identified the security breach and the trespasser was then removed from the filming location immediately.

ITV released a statement saying that the safety of their celebrities and production crews is their primary concern, and the intruder in question was immediately removed after having come to within a touching distance of the set’s perimeters.

First cancellation in 19 years

The show was then canceled for the first time in 19 years following the bad weather conditions brought about by Storm Arwen, with ITV airing their first-ever pre-recorded episode.

Meanwhile, to get your daily fix of TV shows, here are the list of upcoming shows on Netflix.

Ant McPartline and Declan Donnelly, the presenters of the show, posted a video they recorded from outside the castle with the vicious sounds of the wind whooshing in the background; the latter said in the video that “you’ve probably heard we’ve had to record the show a bit earlier because of Storm Arwen”.

ITV also said that the celebrities will be remaining inside the secure castle and that they have contingency plans in place to make sure the safety of all the cast and production crew is covered.

A contestant on the show, Richard Madeley, also had to be conveyed to the hospital after falling sick following a challenge where he had to earn food by having fish guts and offal dumped on him and in doing so, broke the Covid bubble that was put in place.
