Jeremy Renner can’t rewatch Avengers: Endgame

Speaking to BBC Radio 1, Jeremy Renner (who played Hawkeye in the Avengers movies) recalled the first time he watched Avengers: Endgame with his co-stars, and he was weeping and laughing with everyone.

He described it as being a difficult experience and that everyone was a sobbing mess and laughing during the movie, which was the culmination of Phase One of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

One of the most poignant scenes was when Renner’s Hawkeye fought with Scarlet Johansson’s Black Widow to see who gets to sacrifice themselves in exchange for the Soul Stone, one of the infinity stones required to defeat Thanos – Black Widow eventually sacrificed herself by jumping down from the cliff.

Avengers: Endgame was the final movie that was planned to finish off Phase One of the MCU, with the Black Widow and Iron-Man being killed and Captain America being retired in the movie.

Jeremy Renner also revealed in a recent podcast interview with Phase Zero that the original cast were still using the original group chat that was created during the filming of the first Avengers movie in 2012 – the group chat is still being used to keep up with each other’s lives.

Hawkeye on Disney+

Jeremy Renner’s upcoming Hawkeye TV series on Disney+ sees him reprising his role as the titular character, with Hailee Steinfeld starring as Kate Bishop, Vera Farmiga as Eleanor Bishop (Kate’s mother), Alaqua Cox as Echo, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Tony Dalton as Jack Duquesne and Linda Cardellini as Laura Barton (Hawkeye’s wife).

The first two episodes have already debuted on Disney+ (Disney Plus) with new episodes being released weekly, every Wednesday – Be sure to catch Hawkeye, only on Disney+.
