Jose Mourinho blasted a journalist in an interview during a fiery press conference, calling the reporter “not intelligent at all”.
Jose Mourinho, the enigma
The AS Roma boss was asked by Juric, a reporter for Sky Sports Italia, Gianluca Di Marzio, and Radio Sport: “It’s been six months since you signed for Roma, would you change anything that you’ve done in terms of choices, statements, requests or anything that you’ve done?”
An irate Mourinho then lambasted the journalist: “You are here in practically every press conference, but either you are very intelligent and you want people to think you are not or you are not intelligent at all. I want to think you’re intelligent but you like to do what you do.”
Mourinho then got up and left abruptly, cutting his press conference short.
Not the first outburst
This wasn’t Jose Mourinho’s first outburst, with the Portuguese also ranting following a draw at the Stadio Olimpico and the manager being livid his side was not given two penalties that he felt his team deserved.
Mourinho said after the game: “Look, the referee has to explain but they don’t speak.”
Mourinho was then asked what did the referee do wrong, to which he asked the reporter: “Did you watch the game?”
The reporter Fjortoft, a former Swindon and Middlesbrough player, replied: “Yes of course, but I want to hear from you. What did you see from your point of view?”
Struggling for form
Jose Mourinho’s side has been struggling for form this season, with the Giallorossi winning just one game in the last 6 under the Portuguese.
They are also currently languishing in 2nd place in the Europa Conference League group, with just 1 point ahead of Zorya Luhansk and 1 behind Bodo/Glimt, whom Roma also lost to them 6-1 last month.
Mourinho’s former team Man United is languishing in 6th place.
