Amazon has released a trailer for the upcoming Lord of the Rings TV series, and the Internet is ablaze with mixed reactions. Some people are angry that Peter Jackson isn’t involved, and that the series is a prequel rather than a sequel.
Others are excited that the series will be on a premium streaming platform, meaning a higher budget. The opinions are flying, but everyone wants to know – how good will it be?
The TV series will be filmed in New Zealand and after 3 long years since the announcement of the TV series, it is finally coming to Amazon Prime in 2022.
Preview of Lord of the Rings TV
Amazon has released the first image of JRR Tolkien’s fantasy novel, The Lord of the Rings TV series. In the picture, one can spot an ethereal city that could be a Mirkwood. Also, we see a figure wearing a white cloak looking out from behind some trees.
On the right side of the image appears to be the Two Trees of Valinor, which tells us that this is the prequel to the actual Lord Of The Rings movie as the trees were destroyed in the movie series.
The story will be a few thousand years before the events of the movie and it will be in Middle-earth. It will be about the heroes of that era.
Amazon Studios said:
Hopefully there will be a few recognizable figures that are from the movie or it will yet another show using a famous title to make money.
