Yesterday (Nov 20), a gun went off in Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. After the shot was fired, travelers were seen running from the airport.
With Thanksgiving around the corner, the airport was extremely busy with a lot of people when the incident happened.
According to reports from Atlanta, the shot was fired at the bag screening area of the airport. A passenger reached into his bag and the shot was fired, resulting in a panic at the airport.
The airport was not closed but operations were partially disrupted.

The suspect is believed to be Kenny Wells, 42, a man who was convicted of a felony and the Atlanta authorities are currently pursuing the individual.
Wells was flagged during a primary screening after scans detected a prohibited item which was resulted in a secondary search.
During the secondary search, Wells lunged into the property and pulled a gun out which eventually went off.
After the media post questions at the press conference, the authorities stated that the firearm went off accidentally while he was reaching into his bag.
The authorities are currently unaware of where he is flying to as he was already flagged at the security checkpoint.
He then escaped the security checkpoint in the confusion with the firearm.
Fortunately, it did not hit anyone when the gun went off.
Maj. Reginald Moorman (Airport’s police commissioner) address the media and said that “warrants have been taken for concealed weapons at a commercial airport possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, discharging a firearm and reckless conduct.“
No one was shot
The gun went off at around 1.30 PM ET, 3 people were injured during the incident but they were not associated with the gunshot.
The airport continued its operation by later in the afternoon.
Investigations are ongoing.
