MCU Spider-Man 4 is in active development, according to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige – the commencement of the project is in progress and being developed with both Sony and Disney as well.

MCU Spider-Man 4 in progress

Following the overwhelming success of Spider-Man: No Way Home in cinemas after its release globally, destroying box office records along the way, Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige and the producer of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Amy Pascal, was asked by the New York Times about what is next in their plans for the future.

Amy Pascal expressed her hopes to start making Spider-Man 4 and Kevin Feige came out and further confirmed that the upcoming movie is in the infancy stages of development, confirming also that Spider-Man’s adventure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will continue with the studios (Marvel, Sony and Disney) partnering with each other in the venture.

Amy and I and Disney and Sony are talking about — yes, we’re actively beginning to develop where the story heads next, which I only say outright because I don’t want fans to go through any separation trauma like what happened after “Far From Home”, that will not be occurring this time.

Trilogy previously announced

Sony producer Amy Pascal previously made the sweeping statement that Tom Holland would be headlining the next Spider-Man trilogy, leaving many fans excited at the seemingly confirmed future of the web-slinger. But she then backtracked on her comments and said that she was merely expressing her hope that the partnership between the two studios would continue.

However, with Kevin Feige’s latest comments, Spider-Man 4 is finally and officially confirmed, despite other details on the upcoming movie or its sequels (and the trilogy) remaining a mystery. Spider-Man 4 is also expected to have a new director helming the project with current director Jon Watts departing to focus on his work on Fantastic Four, and it remains to be seen if a new production team could end up with the trilogy going a different direction than the current one.

Tom Holland has also previously said that he is ready to hang up his web-slingers and is excited to hand over his suit to his successor, and his contract for the Spider-Man movies is also notably up. And although Spider-Man 4 is probably a few years away from hitting cinemas, fans still have a lot to look forward to as it is expected to follow up on the culmination of the current trilogy.
