Speaking on Live With Kelly and Ryan, Michael B. Jordan was asked by Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest about his thoughts on being dethroned by Paul Rudd as the Sexiest Man Alive, to which Jordan called People out for “tossing him aside” (jokingly of course).

Kelly asked him: “Last time you joined us, you were the Sexiest Man Alive. How does it feel now that you are no longer sexy?”

They just throw you out, like two weeks ago I was all the rave and now I’m just “former sexiest man alive”.

Actually, I just woke up to the news.

They didn’t give you a heads up, no. It was a little rude, a little disrespectful.

But I let it slide because it’s Paul Rudd, so.…

Jordan was then asked by Ryan Seacrest about how his family and friends reacted when he was named Sexiest Man Alive by People in 2020, to which he called it a gift and a curse. Jordan said: “It’s a gift and a curse because you know, to all my friends it’s a target on your back. You know, the group chats, all the memes, the GIFs, they just have a ball.”

Ryan Reynolds, the Sexiest Man Alive for 2010, also reacted to Paul Rudd taking over the title, joking that he owes his eternal youth to his contract with Satan, or that he only “drinks breast milk from a blue whale or something.”

No longer Sexiest Man Alive but still busy

Michael B. Jordan started out his career on shows such as The Fire and Friday Night Lights before appearing in movies like Chronicles and Fruitvale Station. He then took on the lead role in Creed and quickly became one of the biggest names in Hollywood. His profile rose even bigger when he portrayed the villain Killmonger in The Black Panther, starring opposite the late Chadwick Boseman who played the titular hero.

Jordan is set to start in the upcoming A Journal For Jordan by Denzel Washington, before making his directorial debut with Creed III. He is also going to appear in Methuselah, Wrong Answer, as well as produce a series about Val-Zod and Superman for HBO Max.
