No Way Home has the second-best opening day of all time – The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Spider-Man: No Way Home has the second-best box office opening day of all time, second only to Avengers: Endgame.

No Way Home has second best opening day earnings

Spider-Man: No Way Home opened in cinemas to much fanfare after months and months of keen anticipation and excitement, and according to Deadline, they have become the movie with the second-best opening day of all time, behind 2019’s Avengers: Endgame.

The movie made $121.5 million on its opening day, while Avengers: Endgame made $157.4 million in the culmination of Phase One of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and coming in third is Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which took in $119.1 million on its opening day.

To put the mind-boggling figures into context, Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man took in $202 million throughout its entire run, in comparison to Spider-Man: No Way Home’s $121.5 million on the opening day alone.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is the product of three different Spider-Man franchises from three decades, with the villains from Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man hitting the screens from 2002 to 2007, Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man from 2012 to 2014, and now Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2021.

Spider-Man: No Way Home see the villains from the previous Spider-Man movie iterations returning via the multi-verse to wreak havoc on New York City, including Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin aka Norman Osborn, Alfred Molina’s Doc Ock aka Dr Otto Octavius, and Jamie Foxx’s Electro aka Max Dillon, Rhys Ifans’ Lizard aka Dr Curt Connors, and Thomas Haden Church’s Sandman aka Flint Marko.

It is little wonder to see No Way Home doing so well in the box office, with the movie being one of the most ambitious and star-studded movies of all time, with crossovers never seen before since the Avengers movies.
