Netflix’s most expensive movie ever, Red Notice broke the record as the most-viewed Netflix movie of all time, and the Director, Rawson Marshall Thurber is speaking with Netflix for Red Notice 2.
Red Notice is about 3 master thieves who started working against each other to steal the eggs of Cleopatra and ended up working together.
In an interview with Collider, Thurber confirmed that discussion for the next sequel is ongoing with Netflix, as of now nothing is official yet.
“I’m not working on the script for a seque. I’ve certainly been noodling with what I would do for a follow-up and not to telltale out of school but yeah Netflix…we’ve been having those conversations.”Rawson Marshall Thurber
Red Notice is the most expensive film ever made on Netflix, the movie budget was $200 million and according to USA Magazine, the three main stars (Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds, Gal Gadot) were paid $20 million each for their roles in the movie.
That means that a large piece of the movie’s budget went into the 3 roles. We can only hope that this is not the deciding factor for the sequel.
But with the success of the first film, There is a very high chance that there will be a Red Notice 2.
Booth then told Hartley and Black that their accounts has been wiped out by the authorities and wanted them to work together on the next great heist. The movie ended with all three stars of the film disappearing as CIA approaches, which appears to be building towards the next sequel.
We can all hope that there will be a Red Notice 2 coming to Netflix soon.
