Rawson Marshall Thurber, the director for the movie Red Notice, says that a part-two and part-three sequel to the first movie is possible and would likely be shot back to back.

Red Notice premiered on Netflix, garnering a total viewing time of 148 million hours and becoming the biggest opening day for the streaming website.

Red Notice sequels possible

Thurber made his name in Hollywood with the comedy Dodgeball, which starred Vince Vaughn and Ben Stiller, before going on to direct another high movie We’re The Millers, featuring Jason Sudeikis and Jennifer Aniston.

He then jumped on the Dwayne Johnson hype train and made Central Intelligence with the former and comedy rockstar Kevin Hart, before directing the action-packed Skyscraper featuring The Rock.

Thurber spoke to THR, expressing his optimism at a possible sequel (or two) for the first Red Notice movie, adding that it was “only responsible” to shoot the sequels back to back.

Thurber addressed the rumors about the possible sequels, calling it a real possibility:

“If we were to make a sequel, the only responsible thing would be to make two and three back-to-back. It’s such a big production, and if you can mount it one time, it will be better for everyone. Including for my mental health.”

Going to take some time

At the time of writing, the three co-stars of Red Notice seemingly have their plates full – with Dwayne Johnson due to release Black Adam next year as well as having an upcoming Red One project, Ryan Reynolds is finishing up on The Adam Project as well as Spirited, while Gal Gadot is in the midst of filming Heart of Stone, with Wonder Woman 3 and Cleopatra looming over the horizon – She is also going to be portraying the Evil Queen in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

So it will take some time before the trio are available to get behind the cameras to start shooting for the Red Notice sequels.
