Speaking on the Dear Hank and John podcast, Ryan Reynolds shared that he is often mistaken for Ryan Gosling and even Ben Affleck – one pizza place in New York’s East Village even believed he was Ben Affleck for years, asking him how Jennifer Lopez is doing and he would just play along and say that she’s doing great.
There’s a pizza place in the East Village in New York that I’ve been going to for years, they believe I’m Ben Affleck and I’ve never corrected them. I feel it would not go over well if I revealed.”
I do everything normal like everybody else, they just think I’m Ben Affleck and they’ll ask how JLo is and I’m like, ‘Great, good.’ I get the pizza and off I go.

Reynolds was then asked how to tell the difference between himself and Ryan Gosling, to which he replied rather cheekily:
Years ago, I used to play fast and a little loose more on Twitter. These days, I’m a little bit more reserved. Well the difference is easy to spot. Ryan Gosling has blonde hair and Ryan Reynolds is a s–t.

Perhaps the confusion between the two actors stems from their similar names, long-shaped faces, and their Canadian citizenship – the longer you stare at Reynolds’ face, he somehow morphs into Ryan Gosling. Also, Reynolds does kind of look a little like Affleck with their beard and dark brown hair.
Ryan Reynolds has been a very, very busy man of late, starring in Free Guy and Red Notice recently as well as a movie about time travel, The Adam Project, set to be released in 2022 where he will be playing the main character.
