“Yeah so, Spider-Man 4, we had a full script sort of ready to go, and, as is sort of the case when you’re a working feature writer, they brought in some other great writers to punch it up.

They changed some things, and I think about a year later, they got to a point where — and I don’t know why — but they got to a point where they decided that wasn’t the road they were going to go down.”

Spider-Man 4 would’ve picked up right where Spider-Man 3 left off, with Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson reconciling while grieving the death of their best friend Harry Osborn. The villain for the movie was going to be Dr Curt Connors aka Lizard, with actor Dylan Baker initially set to reprise his role and become the main antagonist. According to concept art for the movie, the movie would’ve seen appearances from Shocker, Rhino, Mysterio, Vulture and Black Cat.

However, the studio ultimately decided against the movie and opted for a reboot instead, with Andrew Garfield then coming in to take over the role of Spider-Man in Mark Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man. And with the

the movie open-ended ending of Spider-Man: No Way Home, the door remains ajar for Spider-Man 4 to eventually be produced, however minute the possibility.
