Taylor Swift fired shots at her ex Jake Gyllenhaal in her new music video for her song I Bet You Think About Me – she previously dropped a short film/music video called All Too Well, a re-release of the song from her 2012 album Red.

Fans of the pop star were then treated to a new song that was never released before from her 2012 album, I Bet You Think About Me, from her new Red re-recordings – From The Vault, which are newly-added songs to the re-recording of the album.

Perhaps more noteworthily, the song is full of little shots at her ex-boyfriend, presumably (with overwhelming evidence) Jake Gyllenhaal, whom Swift dated for three months back in 2010.

Taylor didn’t name drop the actor per se, but did call him out in overt wordplay – “You grew up in a silver-spoon gated community; glamorous, shiny, bright Beverly Hills”.

Gyllenhaal is the son of movie director Stephen Gyllenhaal and was born into a reasonably affluent family.

And in another line, she sang: “I bet you think about me when you’re out at your cool indie music concerts every week”, which was referenced in her other track that was presumed to be about him – We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, where she seemingly revealed his taste for Indie music.

Help from Blake Lively

The music video was written by Swift and was expertly directed by actress Blake Lively, otherwise known as Deadpool’s (Ryan Reynolds) wife.

Taylor gave Lively a shoutout on Twitter after announcing the release of the music video, which features Chris Stapleton – “SURPRISE! NEW MUSIC VIDEO TOMORROW at 10 am ET. I finally got to work with the brilliant, brave, & wickedly funny @blakelively on her directorial debut. Join us as we raise a toast, and a little hell.”

Swift also shared a short clip of Lively directing the video behind the scenes onto TikTok.

Twitter-verse in complete meltdown

Swifties on Twitter were having the time of their lives making jokes at Jake Gyllenhaal’s expense following the release of the track, with the memes being churned out fast and furious.
