The Batman final cut of the movie is still being decided by Warner Bros – The Hollywood Reporter said that Warner Bros. is still deciding between two cuts of the final movie that could potentially involve Barry Keoghan’s character.
The Batman final cut still undecided
The Hollywood Reporter reported that Warner Bros. is still undecided between two cuts of The Batman, which possibly involves Barry Keoghan’s role in the movie – Keoghan was reportedly playing a police officer in Gotham City, Stanley Merkel. But rumors have been going around that he will be playing Batman’s arch-nemesis and iconic villain The Joker instead.
Not much is known about Barry Keoghan’s Stanley Merkel, but it was reported that one of the two cuts involves “a certain character” which could possibly be The Clown Prince of Crime, although another source has said that Warner Bro. has made up their mind on which cut they are going to go with.
It would be interesting to see The Joker being introduced so soon in the infancy of Batman’s crime-fighting career, although the notion does seem like an exciting idea for the movie, which appeared to be themed as a dark detective thriller while remaining loyal to the comic books.
The Batman is co-written and directed by Matt Reeves and will star Robert Pattinson as The Batman, Zoe Kravitz as the Catwoman, and Paul Dano as The Riddler – it will also feature Jeffrey Wright, John Turturro, Andy Serkis, and Colin Farrell.
The movie is set in the second year of Bruce Wayne’s Batman’s crime-fighting career, where he faces the threat of The Riddler who has some kind of vendetta against Gotham. Batman will also be dealing with Colin Farrell’s The Penguin and the Falcone crime family, as he crosses paths with the mysterious Selina Kyle, aka Catwoman.
The Batman is slated for release at all theaters on March 4, 2022.
