Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man was seen on a Spider-Man: No Way Home merchandise ahead of the movie’s upcoming release on 16 December, further fueling rumors of Maguire reprising his role in the movie.

Given the rumored actors, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, adamant about not being a part of the upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home movie, one fan was surprised to see Maguire’s version of Spider-Man appearing on a No Way Home merchandise.

Twitter user @dominic_kravitz shared a video and photos of Spider-Man from Bark Box as part of a promotional tie-in – upon closer inspection, you can see Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man being edited into the background of Tom Holland’s Spiderman (third pic on the right).

Eagle-eyed fans immediately recognized the Spider-Man as being lifted from The Daily Bugle’s front page in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man from 2002, and this isn’t the first time that brands have taken to assuming Maguire and Garfield will be in the upcoming movie – A Russian Skittles website also featured Garfield‘s version of Spider-Man while promoting No Way Home.

Spider-Man: Far From Home sees Tom Holland‘s Peter Parker dealing with the wide-ranging ramifications of his secret identity being exposed to the world, but the exposure of his identity serves only a small part of the plotline with the Jon Watts-directed MCU movie focusing largely on the multiverse instead.

We see Spiderman going to Doctor Strange for help to make everyone forget that he is Spider-Man, but the spell then goes wrong and exposes Earth to a myriad of supervillains from the other multiverses, including Doc Ock, Green Goblin, Electro, and Sandman.

There is less than a month until the new Spider-Man movie hits theaters, and fans are excited for its release, although there had been no word if a third trailer will be released before the movie comes out.

But given that this movie will be Tom Holland’s last hurrah (he previously said that he was ready to pass on the mantle) as Spidey, wouldn’t it be quite the send-off if Maguire and Garfield feature in the movie?
