Tom Holland and Robert Downey Jr have reunited for the first time since the culmination of Avengers: Endgame, when the two last shared screentime together as Spider-Man and Iron Man respectively. The two actors, who share a very close, father-son-like relationship, were filming an introduction video for the Venture Into Cures EB Research Fundraiser event.
Tom Holland and Robert Downey Jr back at it again
Tom Holland was hosting the Venture Into Cures EB Research Fundraiser event and was seen in an introduction video, where he got a call from Robert Downey Jr – the two exchanged some back and forth in the video call, with Downey explaining what epidermolysis bullosa is to Holland, without breaking a sweat.
The video was a planned skit, with Robert Downey Jr acting like he’s Tony Stark again, not that the fans mind – Downey has distanced himself from the MCU since his character Iron-Man‘s death in Avengers: Endgame. It’s nice to see good old Robert back again.
Really close relationship
Tom Holland and Robert Downey Jr share a really close relationship, with the senior actor acting as some sort of mentor, father-figure to the younger actor. Downey’s Tony Stark character was of course the one who recruited Tom Holland’s Spider-Man into the Avengers while he was having his beef with Chris Evans‘ Captain America.
The two actors share very evident chemistry on set and became really good friends, but after the end of Avengers: Endgame and also coupled with the Covid-19 pandemic, the two haven’t been spotted hanging out together ever since.
It’s always nice to see Spider-Man and Iron Man get together for a little chit-chat, isn’t it?
