Tom Holland has been named GQ’s Man of the Year, alongside rapper Lil Nas X and NBA superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Holland will put on the Spidey suit and take to the movie screens on 17 December for the hugely anticipated Spiderman: No Way Home movie which represents his third solo-helming of the Spiderman movies as well as his sixth appearance in the MCU.
He most recently made a cameo on the Venom: Let There Be Carnage movie in a mid-credits scene, hinting at a crossover between his Spiderman character and Tom Hardy’s Venom anti-hero.
In No Way Home, Holland’s Peter Parker character seeks help from Doctor Strange to make everyone forget his identity as Spiderman, which was revealed to the world during Far From Home’s mid-credits scene after he defeated Mysterio.

GQ’s 26th Men of The Year highlighted those who have showcased traits of bravery, with Andrew Garfield, Mark Hoppus, and Dennis Rodman also being highlighted in the issue.
What a journey
Since being cast as Spiderman as a (relatively) unknown actor, Holland’s status has been catapulted into Hollywood superstardom alongside the likes of Scarlett Johansson and Robert Downey Jr – with his role in the MCU turning the young man into a household name.
Prior to his adventure in the MCU, Holland was an unknown quantity who featured in films such as The Impossible, How I Live Now and Heart of the Sea.
However, with his new status as one of the Hollywood A-Listers, he is also branching out into the movie adaptation of the video game Uncharted, where he will be playing the role of the main character Nathan Drake.
With that being said, there is a lingering suspicion that No Way Home could prove to be his final movie outing as the friendly neighborhood Spiderman, with his contract due to end after the film – the actor also made comments about being ready to pass the mantle of Spidey to another actor.
