Tom Holland says Spider-Man could beat up Wolverine, but it has to be Wolverine from the 2017 movie Logan. Holland said that if it was the Wolverine from X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Spidey is going to get battered.

Tom Holland says Spider-Man could beat up Wolverine

Speaking to Geek Culture Explained in an interview while promoting Spider-Man: No Way Home, Tom Holland was asked if his Spider-Man character could hold his own against Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, and the actor said that Spider-Man could beat up that “old man”, explaining that Spidey could triumph only if it was against the Wolverine that had grown old in the 2017 movie Logan. He added that if it was the Wolverine from X-Men Origins, he’d get battered.

I’d beat up that old man.

X-Men: Origins Wolverine, he’s going to batter me… I think Wolverine beats Spider-Man every single time because there’s no amount of battering that Spider-Man can do.

And also, Spider-Man doesn’t kill people and Wolverine does. So that is a huge advantage to have in a fight.

I don’t think that Peter Parker would kill Wolverine. Especially not Hugh Jackman.

Wolverine has proven many times that it’s dangerous to count him out, even when he’s being faced with a clone of himself. Although it would be pretty interesting to see Wolverine in his prime take on Spider-Man in his prime.

Wolverine in the MCU?

Although it sounds intriguing, Hugh Jackman would probably leave Logan as it is but rumor has it that he could be joining the MCU for one movie, following which a new Wolverine would be introduced into the primary timeline.

Hugh Jackman’s longtime frenemy Ryan Reynolds, on the other hand, has been desperate for a crossover between his Deadpool character and Jackman’s Wolverine – Deadpool recently made his debut in the MCU (well not officially) via a promotional video for his movie Free Guy, alongside loveable alien Korg earlier this year.

With everything being said, we wouldn’t discount the possibility of Wolvering fighting, or even meeting, Spider-Man one day but I think it’s pretty safe to say that they do exist in the same universe, although not on the movie screens (yet).
