It’s been a long time since the original Ghostbusters was released in 1984. 15 years after that Ghostbusters 2 was released, and now it’s been another 15 years since we last saw the Ghostbusters on screen. This movie looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun, so read this blog and find out more about Ghostbusters: Afterlife.
The story focuses on life after death just as the movie title suggests. Egon Spengler was killed by a ghost in the movie and his granddaughter carries his legacy. After Spengler’s daughter was out of money, she was evicted and had to move to a farm where Egon Spengler last live.
When the single mother and her two children move to a new town, they soon discover they have a connection to the original Ghostbusters and the secret legacy their grandfather left behind.
Egon’s grandaughter was highly intelligent just like her grandfather and she is often seen fixing electronics throughout the movie. Egon’s ghost guided his granddaughter to secret areas and compartments in the house which revealed how she can defend herself and save the world from impending doom.
The new heroes and old face the same enemy as the first ghostbuster movie, the two huge dogs and the evil queen (Gozer). The movie even featured the mini marshmallow man wrecking havoc in a supermarket and it sure brings some memories back.
In the last scene of the movie, the granddaughter of Egon was struggling to capture Gozer, and Egon’s ghost appeared and land her a hand.
Fans would know this, but many people don’t. The original actor of Egon Spengler, Harold Ramis passed away back in 2014. The movie was a tribute to Ramis and before the movie ends. Egon Spengler’s spirit was seen rising to the heavens.
Sidenote: Ghostbusters 3 is a no-no.
